ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UPCOMING EVENTS/ACTIVITIES

Our Quarterly Covered-Dish Luncheon will be August 9 after Worship. Please bring a dish, dessert, or both and plan to join us for this time of food and fellowship!

There will be a Back-to-School Bash Saturday, August 15, from 4-6 for our Middle School and High School students. There will be a water slide and hamburgers.

Over the past year and several months, the five-year planning committee has been hard at work coming up with a plan for our Church. They submitted their report to the Church Council last week and it was approved. Now it is time for the congregation to get involved! Over the next several weeks, members of the Five-Year Committee will give presentations during Church. We hope this will be an informative and fruitful time. 

We are so excited to announce our First Methodist Church Fundraiser/Bazaar, which will be Saturday, October 3, at White Park. Booth sign up forms are in the Fellowship Hall.  More information coming soon!

There are now visitor cards in the pews (behind the giving cards and in the registration pads). We think this is a better way for our visitors and prospective members to let us know who you are! Even if you have been coming a while but are relatively new, please fill a card out. You can either place it in the offering plate or set it at the end of each pew, and they will be picked up Monday morning. Thank you.

If you requested a nametag when we last asked, they have come in and are on the table in the fellowship hall. If you do not have a nametag and would like one, please call the church office and request one—we will pay for your first nametag. If you have lost yours and would like another, the cost is $8.

In the coming months we will send out another round of invites for you to join Realm, the membership and finance program that FMC Anahuac uses. Through this you can utilize online giving. Anyone can give online at any time by clicking on the QR Code or going to the website provided on the giving cards that are in the pews regardless of whether or not you have an account (I think once you donate/set up your offering you fill out info and can then sign in), but if you sign up with an account you can also access other areas. Many people give with checks or cash, and there is nothing at all wrong with that, but the ability to set up your online giving is convenient – you set it up and the money comes out when scheduled, whether you are at church that week or not. You can set it up for your offering to come out weekly, monthly, etc. As of right now, 35% of our 2026 giving is from online giving.
