MISSIONS
Our Prayer Shawl fund has been used quite a bit recently, so we would appreciate any donations for the Prayer Shawl Ministry. If you choose to do so online, the ‘prayer shawl fund’ is listed as a choice. Many people have received these over the past three years, and we know each of those recipients has been blessed to receive theirs. You can of course also write a check and put “Prayer Shawl” in the memo line. Thank you!
Sea Farer Boxes: We have begun working on the Seafarer boxes. We have plenty of boxes from last year. Final date to give to this project is October 31st and we will deliver before Thanksgiving. It’s only June but work has begun. We will prepare 25 boxes to deliver in November. For many years we have taken boxes to the Seafarers Center at the Port of Houston and the chaplains deliver the boxes to the ships that come into the Port. Most of the men and women that are on the ships are learning English and enjoy getting a Christmas gift while they are away from home. We also collect puzzles and books to take to the center. We have left-over supplies from last year so take a look at what we have and what we still need. If you think of something else you might want to donate, please feel free to do so. Military: As we continue to pray for our military, we try to keep up with what their correct address is. If you have provided a name and have an updated address, please give it to us. This year we will send Thanksgiving Cards and Christmas Cards and ask that if you are interested in sending a package to one or more of the service members, feel free to do so. The updated list is always on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall.
